The audio track in the video is the recording of a spoken word performance that I had done in the south London neighborhood of Vauxhall in 2008. In the performance, I approximated the Islamic call to prayer and through the day, at specific points in times shouted out, through a typical ‘public rally’ megaphone, extracts from Jospeh Needham’s monumental history of Chinese science. nnThe extracts were however the Bengali translation of Needham’s text.
