Description: Polyvinyl hydrogel hemiarthroplasty in an ovine model resulted in a fifty percent early failure rate with sheep euthanized due to unrelenting pain.Quantitative CT revealed severe ballooning osteolysis and sclerosis with histologic evidence of inflammation in the bone and synovial membrane.
