Description: 59824nnnAs a preliminary study for developing a system for practicing English speaking, this study explores the role of a subjective difficulty rating through a questionnaire by using a level-based vocabulary list. By picking up 75 English verbs (15 verbs in each level) from five levels (from “Level 1” as the easiest to “Level 5” as the most difficult) of the list, 72 Japanese university students rated the difficulty of verbally answering questions in English on a five-point Likert scale
