_aston-villa-fans-spot-john-mcginn-on-a-night-out-in-birmingham-singing-michael-jackson.webp "Aston Villa captain John McGinn was spotted on a night out celebrating their qualification into next season's Champions League.<br/><br/>Unai Emery's side sealed fourth place thanks to Tottenham's 2-0 defeat to Manchester City earlier this week.<br/><br/>It cements the first time that Villa has qualified for Europe's most prestigious competition since 1983 - the year after they won the European Cup by defeating Bayern Munich.<br/><br/>There were wild celebrations on Tuesday when Villa found out they had qualified for the competition in the middle of their end-of-season awards.<br/><br/>Video footage posted on social media shows that Villa midfielder McGinn has continued his celebrations this week on a night out in Birmingham.<br/><br/>A fan spotted McGinn as the man in the window - singing Michael Jackson's 'Man in the Mirror' at Noel's Bar and Restaurant in the city where he was enjoying his night with friends. <br/><br/>The Villa fan took a selfie video of himself filming McGinn, who was singing loudly.<br/><br/>One person on Twitter said that McGinn looked 'absolutely battered' after enjoying his night out.<br/><br/>The 29-year-old had a beer in his hand, as he looked directly into the camera as he loudly sang the Michael Jackson hit. <br/><br/>It has been a thriller of a season for Emery's side who finished ahead of Tottenham, Chelsea, Newcastle, and Manchester United to obtain a top-four finish.<br/><br/>McGinn, who has been with the side since they were in the Championship, has played a huge part in their success this season. <br/><br/>In 34 Premier League appearances, he has netted six goals and registered four assists.<br/><br/>Villa finishes off their season against Crystal Palace on Sunday, where they will look to reach 71 points with a victory - the first time they have had over 70 in the top flight since the inaugural Premier League season back in 1992-93. <br/><br/>Emery in his press conference on Friday said his objective with Villa is to win the Premier League and Champions League, despite admitting they are not currently contenders. <br/><br/>The 52-year-old Spaniard said: 'My objective is to win the Premier League, my objective is to win the Champions League, but it's very, very difficult. I want to dream with our supporters and the players and to believe always in our work.<br/><br/>'Of course, we're not contenders, but it's in our dreams to get something like that in the Premier League or Champions League.'")

The 31-year-old now has a chance to add a Champions League title to his trophy cabinet alongside the World Cup.<br/><br/>The former Arsenal shot-stopper continued to play the role of chief mischief-maker when he crept up on Emery and doused him with alcohol. <br/><br/>Villa defender Diego Carlos also joined in spraying champagne, possibly feeling reprieved after missing a huge goalscoring chance against Liverpool the previous night.<br/><br/>Youri Telemans, Pau Torres, and other Villa stars also beamed as their triumph was confirmed.<br/><br/>Emery later reacted to Villa's achievement, telling the crowd at the dinner: 'Thank you so much, it is a very special day today. It is our dream.<br/><br/>'We started the season to get here and we were thinking it would be the most difficult. We focused on the Premier League strongly, with injured players at Newcastle losing 5-1.<br/><br/>'Always the injured players were in our minds but the team always were focused and trying to commit strongly to get the oddity we had and today to get it is fantastic really.<br/><br/>'To play the Champions League after the Premier League is the best. You can play in England against the best teams in the world and when you play Champions League you are playing the best teams in other countries.")
